Happy Thanksgiving- Charlie's First!

Our family on Thanksgiving...Charlie is a bit stunned by the self-timer.... Posted by Picasa

We had a nice Thanksgiving at home, with all the fixin's. We celebrated Chris's birthday and gave thanks for our new family member this holiday. Charlie ate meat for the first time- turkey of course! It was mixed with squash and potato. He liked it, and ate A LOT! That night he slept all night....a think it was either the chemical in the turkey that makes you sleepy or the small glass of wine I had with dinner...

Charlie Turns 8 Months- Already!

Charlie is one cheeky monkey! Posted by Picasa

Charlie turned 8 months on the 20th of November. Time has really sped by! He still wakes up once at night, but goes right back down and will go to sleep at bedtime and naptime on his own with no crying. Charlie did sleep from 8pm to 7am a couple of nights ago! Of course I didn't... He is crawling everywhere and likes to "pet" Haley a lot. Sometimes she lets him, sometimes not! Generally he eats just about anything, which we hope continues! For comfort, Charlie really likes his thumb, mommy's hair, and a muslin cloth that I use to feed him with. I think one of these will turn into a "blankie" when he is older. He is really a good wee man and we look forward to sharing him with everyone in the States soon!

In Memory...

This posted blog is dedicated to Charlie's Great-Grandma Sarauer who passed away Friday, October 20. While we wish that we could be home and with our family right now we are comforted by the memories that we shared with Grandma. One of my deepest hopes when I found out that I was pregnant is that Grandma S. could meet my child and this hope came true. I am incredibly grateful for this. Grandma S. put a lot of love into her family and loved holding Charlie and I don't think she would want this posting to be too sad. Therefore, the rest of this blog is happier in nature, focusing on Charlie and his little milestones. Love, Bev Posted by Picasa
